EBE 2008 was an excellent show. When you stop to take a look at these numbers you will see why:
Exhibition Statistics
- Over 300 exhibitors - from 21 different countries with all available stands taken
- 10,000 plus attendees - from 51 different countries covering a diverse range of businesses from private hire to day trips, school contracts to local bus services and community transport to package tours. 51% of the visitors came from operator based organisations, while 38% came from suppliers and 8% from local authority transport departments
- Senior company positions 25% of visitors held the highest roles possible in their organisations, for example, owner, chief executive or managing director while a further 11% held director or senior manager positions
- High levels of purchasing power an estimated £100 million of business was written up as result of the 2008 show with 20% of visitors from companies with fleets in excess of 100 vehicles and considerable budgets at their disposal
- Wide range of purchasing responsibilities visitors came to EBE 2008 looking to source a broad range of products and services. For example, 46% for full size buses and coaches, 43% for mini or midi buses and coaches and 37% for body or chassis equipment. A further 24% had technology products high on their shopping list - looking for IT or AV communications equipment
Exhibitor Survey
- Good quality visitors 75% rated visitor quality as either good or very good
- Valuable source of new business 74% met with prospective customers they did not previously know
- Important source of lead generation 77% generated leads at the show for their sales team to follow-up
- Demonstrable commitment to the show 90% would consider re-booking for 2010
- Effective Marketing Support 79% rated the pre-show marketing campaign as either good or very good
- Good event management 90% rated the pre-show organisation (booking procedures, information supplied and event manual) as either good or very good. While 93% rated the event teams onsite organisation as either good or very good
Visitor Survey
- Valuable show 94% gave the show an overall rating of either good or very good
- Most important things achieved at show - found new suppliers, signed a purchase order, asked for a quote and requested a sales visit
- Effective feature areas 80% gave the Exhibitor Forums, Technology, Environment, Training & Development Zones an overall rating of either good or very good
