Smart Move Campaign

Smart Move is a joint industry awareness and advocacy campaign, initiated by the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and Busworld to make buses and coaches the foremost means of public transport and in so doing achieve sustainable mobility for all as well as meet ambitious environmental and road safety targets.

This objective will be met through the active promotion of the much greater use of bus and coach transport throughout Europe and the rest of the world. Smart Move will seek to lobby policy makers at all levels across Europe and its member states to make sure they are made fully aware of just how safe, environmentally friendly, affordable, user-friendly and efficient buses and coaches really are.

Officially launched at Busworld Kortrijk on 14 November 2009, Smart Move aims to secure the largest possible involvement, endorsement and support from the bus and coach community in Europe and worldwide as well as manufacturers, suppliers and all professionals and individuals who share the same visions and campaign objectives.

For its part Euro Bus Expo will embrace the Smart Move initiative by making it an integral part of its marketing campaign for 2010 and by giving it a valuable promotional platform. This commitment will include the promotion of the Smart Move logo and key messages in all advertising and marketing materials leading up to the show. This will culminate in an exhibition presence complete with a dedicated and fully branded Smart Move stand staffed by IRU and Busworld personnel who will be on hand to provide information to exhibitors and visitors throughout the duration of the show.
