The adoption of new technology – be it in improving the efficiency of vehicle operations or enhancing the passenger experience – has accelerated in recent years. Bus and coach operators are increasingly seeking new ways of attracting and retaining passengers, differentiating their product offer, as well as reducing their cost base.
The importance of technology across all aspects of transport provision will be fully recognised at Euro Bus Expo 2008 where a dedicated Technology Zone will, for the first time, cluster in a specially designated area.
With information systems and equipment, revenue collection systems, ticketing and mobile technology now mainstream components in the drive towards an ever more integrated approach to transport, EBE08 will be the first show of its kind to fully integrate a dedicated technology area into the show.
Technology Zone exhibitors will be highlighting a wide spectrum of passenger-orientated technologies, including real time journey planning, off-board ticketing and vending systems and interactive kiosks.
Operators will also have the opportunity to see up to the minute developments in fleet management, mobile telematics systems, on-line reservation systems as well as latest innovations in vehicle instrumentation.
Technology will also be a key part of the daily seminar programme – the running order of which will be published here
